Clarence Cattanach

Clarence Alexander Cattanach was born in Williamstown, December, 23rd, 1885. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cattanach.

Clarence Cattanach as he was known throughout his life was one of Glengarry’s great lacrosse and hockey defencemen.

In World War I Clarence Cattanach enlisted as a private with the 154th Battalion. He was commissioned on the battle field in France to the rank of Lieutenant.

Clarence Cattanach was a postmaster in his Williamstown store in 1925. In 1946 the post office became a separate operation. He handled the mail for the village and neighbouring areas until retirement in 1959.
