John D. MacLeod

A native of Skye area of Dunvegan, John was a budding soccer star in his youth. In maturity he was popularly known as “Big John” and became outstanding in the position of fullback.

John was a member of the 1924 Dunvegan Football League Championship. As well as being an avid soccer player, John was also a talented bass drummer and among those who were instrumental in re-organizing the Glengarry Pipe Band in the 1960’s.
