Laurent Ladouceur
Laurent Ladouceur, from Alexandria, started out as an amateur Mini Stock racer and now 3 decades later he has reached a current status as a professional pilot in the world of DIRTcar Modified Racing.
Laurent is one of the most seasoned DIRTcar Racing competitors on both sides of the border; he ranks today as one of the most accomplished open-wheel drivers in the Northeastern United States and Canada. Laurent is still contending for point championships on the Canadian Circuit. Laurent has up over 220 feature race victories in both Late Model and Mini Stock competition from 1976-1986. He was honoured by being named the 358-Modified Rookie of the Year in 1987 for the DIRTcar Small-Block Series.
Laurent now has 12 DIRTcar 358-Modified Track Championships (3rd all-time) at ovals like Autodrome Edelweiss (Que.), where he is the reigning point’s king for the third consecutive year. In 2004, Laurent’s son Joey earned the highest honour – overall Mr. DIRTcar Champion. This accomplishment by Joey made him and his father the first father/son tandem to ever be crowned “Overall Mr. DIRTcar Champion”.
Along with scoring 3 DIRTcar Big-Block Modified wins during his track side tenure, Laurent has also registered 85 victories (10th all-time) in the 358-Modified division with still more to come as he enjoys his 36th season.
